According to the OM there is sufficient evidence that A. is responsible for the assault in the bicycle tunnel. On images shown in the courtroom, you can clearly see how he grabs her and pushes her against a pillar. According to the victim, he then touched her with her buttocks, breasts and vagina.
But the 26 -year -old suspect denies the assault, and says he only wanted to hug the woman – with whom he once had a date. According to his lawyer, A. stopped when he realized that the victim was not served by the “hug.” Moreover, there were several police officers present and passers -by did nothing to stop him. According to the counsel, that is an indicator that nothing was wrong, which cannot be done. He therefore also asks for acquittal.
“No, no, no”
DNA was then found on the woman’s pants from A. That went into the database and with that a match was found with an old business from 2019. This is an assault and rape in the Noorderpark. Here a woman stated against the police that a man kissed her in her neck, went under her legging, touched her buttocks and went with his fingers in her vagina.
“I said all the time: no no. Then I pushed him away and tried it again,” reads the public prosecutor from the police investigation.
Apologize
Here only a DNA match was found in the victim’s neck, not in other places on the body. The suspect’s lawyer believes that there is not sufficient evidence for the rape.
The victims were not present in court. Samson A. indicated at the end of the session that he would like to apologize to the women and that it was never his intention. He also denies the assault and rape. The ruling will follow on Tuesday 13 May.
