For years, the exchange rate conditioned the purchase of dollars: a maximum of 200 per month and multiple taxes increased any travel planning abroad. This forced many travelers to resort to the informal market, assuming greater risks and costs.

With the partial and then total lifting of the stocks, today it is possible to freely access dollars, without limits or taxes, under a system of exchange bands that allows the official dollar to fluctuate between $ 1,000 and $ 1,400. While the “tourist dollar” is still valid with 30% surcharge in card consumption abroad, the possibility of buying official dollar generates greater predictability and opens new opportunities.

What changes for the traveler?

1. Best prices on international trips. The decline of the blue dollar and the chance to access the official exchange rate in certain cases, reduced the value in pesos of many packages abroad. Trips that seemed impossible today again are within reach.

2. More transparency and simplicity. Leaving multiple perceptions and exchange rates behind allows the client to understand exactly how much its trip costs, without surprises or girls. This strengthens trust and speeds up decision making.

3. Real savings paying in dollars. Although card consumption abroad continue to receive a surcharge, who buy dollars and directly pay their flights, hotels or excursions in that currency avoid overruns. For example, if a passage to Madrid costs US $ 1,000, before that value was paid more than 30% additional. Today, it can be paid in dollars without that tax, achieving considerable savings.

Of course, to access the official dollar you have to be bankrupt and meet certain requirements.

Travel agencies. We see this new scenario as an opportunity to accompany and advise our passengers even better. We explain why paying in dollars is not risky, but a way of protecting the trip budget and saving.

In addition, we recommend activating dollars on credit or debit cards and paying summary before expiration to avoid conversions to pesos with surcharges. We also offer packages, accommodation and car rentals listed directly in dollars, facilitating planning.

A challenging context. The economic panorama is still uncertain, but there are signs of greater openness and stability. This can be positive for both travelers and those who work in tourism. It is a key moment to strengthen the link with customers, provide clear information and offer not only a service, but also tranquility and support.

Because yes: today travel is possible. And from tourism, we have the responsibility to make it come true.
