The squatters have sent pictures of their squat action to AT5 themselves. They describe the Kraak as ‘a very unusual action’. “Prior to the Kraak, bystanders Queen Maxima saw a number of her on a throne in a cargo bike, commanded henchmen to crack the building. After the action, Maxima entered the building and gave a speech aimed at the Orange customers on the street from the balcony.”
During the speech, this Kraakster would have declared the ‘social revolution’. She would have said, among other things, that another squat, which is located on the Taksteeg, should be recognized as ‘sovereign anarchist Vrijstraat’. Furthermore, according to De Kraakster, private property should be lifted and the Dutch state too. The dressing star would also have thrown her crown in the canal.

A police spokesperson confirms that there are squatters in the building. “They claim that they have been there for some time and have house rights, we are investigating the Public Prosecution Service whether that is correct.”
Krakers almost always say that they have been in a building for a few days. It ensures that the risk of rapid evacuation is a lot lower, because in principle the police evacuates only urgently if the squatters are caught red -handed. Moreover, there is no evacuation for vacancy. It often takes days to find out if a building was actually in use or whether there are construction plans.
