The 1st FC Magdeburg has hunted in the fight for the Bundesliga promotion and has to tremble three tremors after the draw at Hertha BSC on matchday 31 of the 2nd Bundesliga. The team of coach Christian Titz had to be satisfied with a 1-1 (1: 1) in the Olympic Stadium and could be overtaken by Elversberg, Paderborn or Düsseldorf on Saturday. The capitals remained unbeaten in the sixth game in a row and have almost safe relegation. Lubambo Musonda (44th minute) put the Magdeburgers in the lead in front of 62,057 spectators. Linus Gechter (45.+2) headed the Hertha in return to equalize.

After an open exchange of blows in the first few minutes and big chances on both sides, the guests took over the game control. In particular, central defender Marcus Mathisen could have headed his team several times. Because Berlin’s Gechter defended too tentatively, Musonda was able to shoot into the right corner slightly. After a free kick by Michaël, the Berlin defender quickly made his mistake well again.

After the break, the FCM initially had the better chances and the home side were almost only in defense mode. Tjark Ernst in the Herthan’s goal, however, played a good game and prevented the deficit. Florian Niederlechner’s substitution brought new impetus into the game of the Berliners, but not the winning goal.

Great Ulm victory in the relegation battle

Rising SSV Ulm 1846 achieved a great victory in the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga at the SPVgg Greuther Fürth, which was still not rescued. Maurice Krattenmacher provided the 1-0 (0: 0) of the guests with a deflected shot, who initially moved to the relegation place in the table with 29 points. The Fürther have six more points, but also a very difficult remaining program.

The not undeserved leadership defended the guest team, which was significantly improved under the new coach Robert Lechleiter, in front of 14,425 spectators in the Fürther Ronhof with combat strength and also luck. Ulm’s goalkeeper Niclas Thiede steered a shot from Branimir Hrgota in the 68th minute. The extremely long stoppage time of eight minutes survived the Ulmer.

The Fürther determined the initial phase and also came through Jomaine Consbruch and Noel Futkeu to the first degrees. However, the guests came into play better and better in the middle of the first half. A shot from Felix Higl was blocked (26th). Immediately afterwards, goalkeeper Nahuel Noll kept a left -wing shot from defender Tom Gaal. Before Schrattenmacher’s goal, the Ulm had the goal celebration on their lips after the break. Higl extended a throw -in towards Fürther Tor, but defender Niko Gießelmann was able to clarify spectacularly in front of the line.
