His commitment to the people of Ukraine is truly as strong as an ox! Restaurant owner Irakli “Herkules” Kemertelidze (44) has once again brought donations in kind to Ukraine. And now the native Georgian is planning a contact point for refugees on Alex.
Just two days after the first attack on Ukraine, the owner of “Kim Za” went to Lviv, Ukraine, with donations. His second trip took him to the Odessa region last week.
The journey took 48 hours in one direction. It led through six border crossings and partly snow-covered streets. The war was clearly visible: tanks and refugee tents stood at the side of the road. Private cars were labeled “Children”.
“People stick this on cars in the hope that there won’t be any shooting while they get their kids to safety,” he says. Irakli is a father himself – and such pictures tear his heart apart.

His relief supplies arrived at a former holiday camp in Palanca, Moldova, where 160 women and children are housed. On his way back, Irakli took three families to Germany.
In the meantime, the restaurant owner has arrived back in Berlin and would now like to help locally. A contact point with warm meals, donations in kind and, above all, an open ear is being created on Alexanderplatz. “I also want to support people emotionally,” he says. “That’s what they need most. Many arrive disoriented. I want to catch her.”
