After an accident in training, skier Margot Simond has succumbed to her serious injuries. In 2024 she became a French junior slalom master.

The French young ski driver Margot Simond died after a training accident in Val d’Isere. The French Ski Association FFS announced on Thursday. The accident occurred on the slopes around 1 p.m. in the area of ​​the “Envers de Bellevarde” area. An emergency doctor was immediately there, but Simond could not be revived. She died at the scene of the accident.

The Albertville public prosecutor is said to have already started an investigation into the circumstances of the death of the 18-year-old. Simond was one of the greatest talents in French skiing.

“The French Ski Association, the Savoy Ski Committee, the sports club Les Saisies and the entire ski community are deeply affected and sad about the loss of Margot,” wrote the FFS in a post on X.

SIMOND is said to have prepared for the second edition of Red Bull Alpine Park, a competition initiated by Slalom Olympic champion Clément Noel, and have fallen from 1 p.m. The event was canceled.
