His Majesty De Koning lived on Wednesday evening, April 23, in the capital co-cathedral Basilica of Sint Nicolaas a celebration at in memory of Pope Francis. Minister Van Weel of Justice and Security, also Minister of Worship, was also present.
The celebration in Amsterdam was led by the bishop of Haarlem-Amsterdam Mgr. Dr. JWM Hendriks. The music was provided by the Cappella Nicolai.
Pope Francis died on Easter Monday. Prime Minister Schoof and Minister of Foreign Affairs Veldkamp will attend the funeral ceremony on Saturday 26 April on behalf of the government.
