Raid triggered trauma
In the radio show “Trunk Nation”, the DEF Leppard drummer shared his dealings with the situation. “I do a challenging time that has to do with what happened in Florida,” said Rick Allen. That happened in 2023
In March 2023, Rick Allen was attacked in Fort Lauderdale. According to descriptions of the incident, the musician smoke from the “Four Seasons” hotel when a man jumped out behind a pillar and hit him to the ground. Everyone suffered injuries, as did a woman who tried to help and also became the goal. The attacker was arrested and convicted. Since then it has been “difficult for the drummer to be among people”.
Rick Allen remains positive
“So I decided: ‘Do you know what, don’t take too much. Just take care of what is in front of you. Spend as much time at home as necessary’,” said Rick Allen’s approach to processing. “I just hope that I can leave it behind me.” Where he previously stroked side projects to have more time for himself, they are now on his list: “I hope that I can do it again soon – especially art.”
