At the end of March, the Langel Coralie, which was previously launched for France, announced that it would start in the future for the Swiss biathlon team. In an interview, the “newcomer” of the Swiss federal people has now explained their decision.
“I’ve been thinking about it for a while,” said the 23-year-old in an interview with “Nordic Magazine”: “In January, after winning two weekends in Prémanon and Les Contamines Montjoie, I was not selected for the IBU Cup. I was a bit sad.”
The “less and less understandable” decisions of the French association would have made Langel intensifying their considerations: “I am not at a war with France at all, I am only disappointed with certain decisions. So I am as a athlete, and I am not always objective.”
Biathlon talent can train with Haecki-Gross and Co.
The biathlon talent is now starting your new adventure with a lot of enthusiasm. Langel will be able to train with some World Cup stars at Switzerland in the future. “The A team’s coaches told me that I will train with them, in a mixed group of five men and five women, including big names such as Lena Haecki-Gross and Amy Baserga.”
The anticipation in the youngster, which completed her last race in the IBU Cup in the 2021/22 season, is great: “It will be great to work with you! After that I have to work clever because it was a while ago that I was traveling internationally.” At that time she had to struggle with physical problems.
“I was broken and we then decided to concentrate on the reconstruction of my performance instead of just continuing. On this point I am very quiet, thanks to everything I have learned in the past two years. We only have to convey this to the trainers so that everything runs smoothly,” Langel continues.
