The municipality of De Wolden will not receive fifty minor refugees in the Steenbergerhoeve in Zuidwolde.

This is apparent from a letter from the municipality. In conversation with the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA), it was asked whether the refugees can be placed in several places.

That possibility is not there, let the COA know at De Wolden. A minimum of fifty in one place is the lower limit. The municipality wanted to buy the Steenbergerhoeve for the daycare, but now lets that plan sail.

Last year, the city council in De Wolden himself drawn up rules and decided to compensate for a maximum of 15 young aliens per location. From the COA the request to catch fifty and the municipality wanted to do that in one place.

A number of political groups pointed to the municipal administration of the agreements made earlier. Maximum fifteen per location. With that message the college was sent to the COA, but small -scale care is therefore not possible.

Part of Zuidwolde also feared for unrest due to the arrival of unaccompanied minor refugees.

The municipality writes in the letter that small -scale care is more in proportion to the size of a rural municipality such as De Wolden. However, the task of catching fifty minor refugees remains.

It is not clear how De Wolden is going to fill it now. There are, however, conversations with the province of Drenthe to talk about smaller care and how regulations could be relaxed for it.
