What’s next with Bayern Clubidol Thomas Müller? According to a media report, the striker now canceled a club in the American MLS.
The future of Thomas Müller is probably one of the most noticeable personal details of the expiring Bundesliga season: Where is the Bavaria striker go after his departure from his heart club in summer? One thing is certain that the 35-year-old will not be able to hang out the soccer shoes yet, but to which club he is changing, speculation is currently shooting into the herb.
Now there should be great interest in a Müller obligation from Italian series A. There, according to the “Bild” newspaper and the transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio, the AC Florence spread out its feelers after the 2014 world champion.
“As far as Thomas Müller is concerned, I can confirm that the Fiorentina called his consultant to find out more. There is no deal, but you have inquired whether Müller wants to switch to Italy because no Italian club can keep up with his salary at Bayern Munich,” the Italian di Marzio told the internet portal “bettfreunde.net”.
Müller’s agent has supposedly not answered “because he will probably collect and evaluate all interested clubs and then speak to Thomas at the end of the season to see if he wants to stay in Europe, to Saudi Arabia or MLS”.
As the “Sport Bild” reports, Müller is said to have already rejected an offer from the MLS club FC Cincinnati. The association from the first American professional league had put Müller on the so-called discovery list with players with whom you want to negotiate a transfer-regardless of the player’s interest. This is common practice in the USA.
The fact that Müller does not want to switch to Ohio is regrettable for FC Cincinnati, but the club now keeps a kind of right of first refusal, since he just had Müller put on that discovery list. If another club from the Major League Soccer (MLS) wants to negotiate with the Bayern star, he first has to buy Cincinnati.
So it went to Los Angeles Galaxy’s transfer of the ex-Dortmunders Marco Reus. The latter had had to buy Charlotte FC the right to access to negotiations with Reus. Müller is also associated with La Galaxy, as the club from the American professional league is in good connection as a partner association with FC Bayern.
At the beginning of April, Bayern had announced that Müller’s expiring contract would not be extended. The 2014 world champion is only a part -time force among Munich. Müller’s last business trip with FC Bayern will be the club World Cup from June 15th to July 13th in the USA. What he does afterwards is still open.
Bayern definitely want to integrate him into the club work later. President Herbert Hainer finally also described Müller as the “epitome of a Bavarian picture book career”.
Müller also speculates about the interests of clubs from the USA, England and Turkey. Former Bavaria stars have already taken the path from Munich to Florence. Mario Gomez played for the Italians from 2013 to 2015, Franck Ribéry from 2019 to 2021. Florence will try to make Müller tasty “that he can play freely and enjoy a city that will love him,” said di Marzio.
