Some time ago, the traditional club, which won the DFB Cup under the name Bayer Uerdingen in 1985, was revoked. As a result, donations or donations in kind can hardly be expected in the future. A current review of the financial situation also showed that the funds to continue the game was not sufficient.
The club played the last competitive game last weekend-a 0-2 defeat at Fortuna Düsseldorf II. Because the withdrawal before April 30, all previous games will be canceled according to the regulations of the West German Football Association. This procedure was already used in the case of Türkspor Dortmund.
Despite the withdrawal, the club should be preserved. The bankruptcy administration is aiming for a debt with the aim of restarting in the Oberliga for the coming season.
