Lando Norris is currently running after his McLaren teammate Oscar Piatri in Formula 1. At the Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia, a mistake in qualifying prevented a better performance than P4. F1 expert Timo Glock therefore warns the British and warns more calm.
Lando Norris had to be satisfied with fourth place in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. The 25-year-old had gone to the race as tenth. The reason: The McLaren pilot ended up in the wall in qualifying on Saturday at the beginning of Q3.
“He performed well in the race, but he throws it away on Saturday,” said Formula 1 expert Timo Glock at the serious faux pas at “Sky”.
Norris has “the car to win. Oscar Piatri shows what the car can do, and he has to go there too. He has to go back and let the car take it,” warned the 43-year-old.
“That must no longer happen to him …”
Norris is currently in second place in Formula 1’s driver’s ranking of Formula 1 behind his teammate.
“Perhaps the advantage of Piatri is that his heartbeat remains the same and that he has no tips and emotional outbursts. You can see that at Lando, he wants too much and then a small mistake is created that will bring him a good starting position on Sunday. Just like the error in Bahrain,” said Glock to the British.
The former Formula 1 driver warned Norris: “This must no longer happen to him, otherwise he cannot win a World Cup.”
The McLaren pilot had told “Sky” even after the race: “Overall, I am satisfied, but I make life difficult for myself, especially in races like here. It would have been easier if I had stood ahead. I have to improve a bit on Saturdays.”
The next chance for this will be from May 2 to May 4, when Formula 1 is in Miami.
