With the sunny Easter weekend, people from Brabant go out massively again. This is also the case on the MariĆ«ndreef farm campsite in Heijningen. “We ran away last year, but it is fantastic now. It is really enjoying that way,” says Campinggast Christina Verschoor.
The campsite is from Bianca van Es and her partner Arjan. “We have this farm campsite here at our arable farm. We all enjoy the silence and peace here. This morning we all ate nice Easter breakfasts, which we gave to the guests as a gesture from the campsite,” says Bianca.
Croissants and regional products
Christina says they have been on the campsite for a month now. “We come from Hardinxveld-Giessendam, about forty kilometers away and work in Rotterdam. It is nice to get out of work here at the campsite.”
When asked what she sees that it is a farm campsite, she says: “There are chickens on the field here. And just look at the wonderful view. It is really enjoyment. And we love that.”
‘A lot of freedom’
It is also fun for eleven -year -old Amy. “You have a lot of things to do and a lot of freedom with the horses and many children you can play with. And it’s pretty nice because you are with family. There were Easter eggs hidden, that was very nice,” she says.
When asked what is different about a farm campsite than a normal campsite, Bianca says: “It is a bit more pleasant. The peace and social contact with the manager,” she says. “The moment guests arrive, we welcome them. We give a tour of the campsite and explain, for example, about cycling and walking routes in the area.”
Camping a little further
It is also busy at other campsites in Brabant. Kitty Gommers is covering the Easter table at the Markdal campsite in Standaard Daardbuiten. “Because the grandchildren come soon. They really like it,” she says.
“We have come in this way especially before Easter, to celebrate Easter with the grandchildren. We really enjoy nature and the peace here. Today we are going to look for Easter eggs with the grandchildren and then we are all going to barbecue. We have a chalet, so if the weather is bad we can still go inside,” says Kitty.
