The 7-year-old Myla from Alphen can finally go to Paaspop with her father Richard and her mother Birgit, who have been going to the festival in Schijndel for ten years. Normally MyLa is staying with grandpa and grandma all weekend. But now that her big idol Flemming is on stage, mum and dad are making an exception. “I can dance and sing the best, but mum and dad are also a bit crazy,” says Myla enthusiastically.
“I have been nagging for a long time if I can go,” says Myla. The 7-year-old has a special tactic to get that done. “When I arrived with grandparents, I always started to cry and now I can finally come along,” she laughs.
Yet her plan only succeeded this year. “She normally gets something done with us quickly,” says mother Birgit. “But when we saw the line-up, we decided that she can last for a day.”
At the festival there are all favorite artists of MyLa and one of them is even super fan. “I want to see the bankers and Roxy Dekker and at Flemming I want to be in the front,” she says.
The tough work to get that done, she leaves Richard to her father. “Dad takes a corridor and calls to all people: all aside,” says Myla.
“Make the heart to Flemming.”
To attract the attention of her great idol, she also came up with something. “On Liberation Day I made a heart in the air to Flemming, but I don’t know if he recognizes my heart.”
After the performance of her favorite artists, the fun is not over yet. “Dad said I can stay on until I am very tired,” says the lucky bird.
Then Myla can sleep in the camper with mom and dad. “She prefers to stay another day, but she is picked up again the next day by grandparents. We are going to try it first for a day,” says Birgit.
Birgit and Richard also have something to celebrate. Since 2015 they have been together at the festival campsite, with the exception of the Corona Years. “At first we slept in a tent. But after we were completely wet, we decided to go on the bike for a few years. In recent years we have taken the camper, so Myla is nice,” laughs Richard.
“I find it a bit exciting.”
Flemming is on the Apollo internship, in one of the largest festival tents in the world in which 21,000 visitors can. “I find it a bit exciting,” MyLa confesses.
Once at the front of the stage, those nerves seem to be a thing of the past and Myla dances and sings the stars of heaven. Richard and Birgit participate loudly, although Myla also puts her hand on the mouth of Dad.
They all agree on one thing. “I can dance and sing the best,” Ila decides. “But mom and dad are also a bit crazy.”
After a successful performance by Flemming, the family is looking forward to the rest of their festival day. “We are going to make something beautiful out of it with the three of us,” Richard closes.
