Today another ‘old witch’ moment: at the checkout of the supermarket I hold my debit card against the device. Nothing happens. Suddenly the cashier says “Oh sorry, I don’t pay attention,” and she taps something on the cash register. The debit card is doing now. “Fortunately,” I say, “because if something like that happens, I always think it’s up to me.” Then comes the cannonball: the friendly cashier immediately says: “Well, ma’am, so this one time not”
