In the German ice hockey league, the final series between the Eisbären Berlin and the Cologne sharks is pending. The sports show reports of all games live and in full length.

With the defending champion Eisbären Berlin and the main round of Cologne Haie, two heavyweights meet in the final for the German ice hockey crown. Berlin (10 titles) and Cologne (8 titles) are among the most successful clubs in Germany.

All games of the best-of-Seven series (four victories for the title) are available at Sportschau.de and in the Sportschau app as a live ticker and exclusively as an audio stream. The reporters report in full length of all games in the final series. No gate, no power play, no more body check with the full reportage, which will also be available in the ARD audio.

Big halls, great emotions

With the polar bears and the sharks, the two spectator magnets of the DEL also meet. In every game, 14,200 fans can be expected in Berlin – in Cologne, where the euphoria has been large for eleven years, 18,600 fans are expected for each of the three possible home games – special atmospheres are therefore guaranteed in the final playoffs.

While the Eisbären Berlin won three of the last four championship titles, the dry spell in Cologne is a long one: in 2002 the once successful sharks were allowed to cheer for the last time. In the main round of the 2024/25 season, the sporting balance is compensated for. In four main round games, each team won twice each, each of which once and once at home.

Key duel Ronning vs. Hudacek

A key duel in the final series could be Ty Ronning against Julius Hudacek. While Berlin’s top scorer Ty Ronning has always contributed at least one goal or an assist in the last 23 games (new DEL record) and thus became the face of the polar bear offensive, the shaping figure of Cologne’s success is in the Haie goal with Julius Hudacek. The Slovak already had the offensive series of Ingolstadt and Bremerhaven despair and thus a large part in the Cologne final.
