There were no trains for two hours between Assen and Beilen this morning. According to the Dutch Railways, that was due to a change failure. In the meantime, train traffic has resumed.
For train travelers from Zwolle, Beilen was temporarily the end station early this morning. They then had to travel by bus to Assen. Train travelers from Groningen did not get any further than Assen. They too had to take the bus as a replacement transport.
Incidentally, not all stranded travelers could get a place in a bus. According to the Dutch Railways, ‘very limited’ buses drove.
