Paderborn’s keeper Manuel Riemann fired several times from 25 meters on goal in the second division of the SC-Paterborn against the Fortuna Düsseldorf. Nevertheless, the East Westphalia no longer succeeds.
A classic Sunday afternoon of the second division: SC Paderborn meets Fortuna Düsseldorf at home. Anyone who expected boredom in this game had made the bill without the Paderborn goalkeeper Manuel Riemann. The latter amazed with its own parades and a furious game. In the last third of the game, Riemann stormed away from his goal and initiated his own attacks.
“And then he also appears in the front of the box and also shoots. That was the last thing that should still happen here today that he also scores a goal here,” said Düsseldorf’s coach Daniel Thioune after the game.
What Thioune said: In the 81st minute of the game, Riemann simply took a long -range shot on the opposing goal from a good 25 meters – and checked the Düsseldorf keeper Florian Kastenmeier. At that time, Paderborn was 1-2 behind, after a dynamic first half of the game. The 36-year-old wanted to achieve the equalization.
When Riemann started the center line in the final quarter of an hour to the next distance shot, he was intercepted by Düsseldorfer Giovanni Haag. This almost immediately pulled off on the empty gate – the ball rolled past the goal a few meters.
Paderborn had to play outnumbered in front of Riemann’s excursions on the field since the 63rd minute. Therefore, the goalkeeper switched on several times as a tenth field player. In the end, the East Westphalia lost the third time in a row.
Riemann, SCP’s service since January, has caused a sensation in the past. At EX-Club Bochum, his contract was terminated last year. The reason was “insurmountable and different views on team -based topics.”
Born in Bayer, the native became known, among other things, through his strong performance in the DFB Cup 2007/08 against FC Bayern Munich, where he parried two penalty and himself.
