An enchantment, a magical corner on the Lecco branch of Lake Como, where tradition and creativity come together to give surprising and refined tastes, to love. And moreover Amandus is the Latin toponym from which the name of the Landello del Lario area originates and the meaning can be translated into “Amabile”, “to be loved” or “worthy of being loved”.
You dinner on a terrace overlooking the lake and below there is a magical garden on the water. Amandus is part of the Villa Lario Resort, a small delicious hotel, obtained from a very well restored late nineteenth -century villa.
The cuisine proposed by chef Luca Mozzanica is creative, of great quality, where the exaltation of the raw material has a fundamental part. The Locanda dei Bankers, Fosdinovo
You have to do a couple of hairpin bends between Caniparola and Fosdinovo, to get to this ancient villa and enjoy, perhaps, the most beautiful panorama of Lunigiana. We were there in November and it was wonderful, in summer it must be a paradise. Here in front of the panorama, you can enjoy a very high level cuisine, of the chef Giacomo Devoto, young, but with an already long experience, among which a training from Angelo Paracucchi shines.
Lunigiana dominates the environment but also has its influence on the dishes, with flavors that combine land and sea and resumes ancient flavors, with products of the local tradition, almost forgotten and makes the basis of refined and rich dishes.

It is necessary to imagine, but it is not easy, tables on a terrace, at the edges of a touch swimming pool, surrounded by “panfiles” of 30-40 meters with, in the background, the Gulf of Poets. In this scenario you can taste a creative cuisine but without pindaric flights, firmly linked to the quality of the product and marine flavors.
