Melsungen after Starting difficulties sovereign
Melsungen was the clear favorite against the second division club, but struggled in the first half. Balingen started the game with a lot of energy and determination and in the meantime even led with 13:10. Only then did Mt goalkeeper Nebojsa Simic get into the game better and with his parades his team still helped to take a short break.
In the second half, however, it became clear why Melsungen was one of the top teams in Germany. The MT continued to settle, Balingen could no longer keep the pace of the first round – even if they could not be shaken up completely. In the end, however, the North Hesse were able to celebrate the entry into the final.
“It was a complicated game that we could then design for ourselves,” said Timo Kastening after the game at the ARD microphone. “Accordingly, we are happy to stand in the final.”
