In the autumn of 2023, a 44-year-old winter athlete was in a bad accident in his own garden. He thinned the branches of the tree while standing as one of the branches poured the ladder and the man fell four meters to the ground.
Cermak got a cerebral hemorrhage and fell into a coma for over 40 days.
After waking up, he uttered unexpected words.
– Where are my skis? Cermak asked.
The Czech star weight dropped by as much as 35 pounds during the coma. He was already slim.
A violent rehabilitation process began. Cermakin had to learn how to walk and even reuse his face muscles.
The sports background was helpful. Without it, Cermak might not have recovered.
– The doctors said that if I had just drank beer and watched football on TV, I couldn’t rehabilitate, he said.
Now the furious head is back on the slope. He recently participated in the Czech Championship, although he is still far from his best steel.
During his peak years, Cermak broke his country’s record by lowering the hill at 243 kilometers per hour. In his return race, he was content with 104 kilometers per hour.
Cermak was also a standard face in the World Cup in his career.
