In the women’s Bundesliga, Kristin Demann plays for some clubs – the Wolfsburg native is also active in the national team. But soon it will be over.

After more than two decades on the soccer field, Kristin Demann draws a line. The midfielder will end her active career at VfL Wolfsburg after this season. The club announced this on Thursday.

“Football has accompanied me since I was four,” said the 32-year-old in the association’s message. “Through him, I was very lucky to travel to different places, to get to know special people, to have extraordinary experiences and to find my own way.” During the course of their career, there were under contract with several Bundesliga clubs. Stations were the 1st FFC Turbine Potsdam, the TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, FC Bayern Munich and 1. FC Köln. In 2022 she moved to Wolfsburg.

The defensive player, who always had to struggle with injuries, played a total of 158 games in the Bundesliga and 24 games in the DFB Cup. There are also 22 missions in the Champions League. With her clubs she won the German championship three times and twice the DFB Cup. She also came to 20 missions for the German national team.
