Antero Mertaranta’s narrative career will continue after the spring hockey World Cup, MTV reports.
Mertaranta earlier reported that he would describe his last World Cup in Stockholm. However, he will not retire yet.
Legend’s career continues as MTV’s athletics reviewer and in the Finnish Championships in the 2025-26 season.
Mertaranta, 69, can interpret its last World Cup in a familiar place: Globen, Stockholm. Or in the Avicii Arena, as hockey is now called.
The Lions won the first World Championship gold in Globen in 1995 in their history, and at that time there was a Mertaranta in the voice.
MTV shows all the Lions World Championships. Studio broadcasts are hosted by Teemu Niikko and Summer.
The team of experts consists of Olli Jokinen, Lasse Kukkonen, Karri Kivi, Antti-Jussi Niemi and Jokeri’s Juhamatti Aaltonen, who jumps in as a new face.
Sami Kapanen, Siim Liivik and Veli-Matti Savinainen are also involved in the race team.
