A few months ago, Marco Reus celebrated the championship title in the MLS with Los Angeles Galaxy. Now the defending champion is in a deep crisis.
After seven season games, Los Angeles Galaxy stands at the Western Conference in the table-it is the worst start of a reigning master in MLS history.
“It’s frustrating,” said Reus about the current situation. The 35-year-old is currently missing his team due to injury and cannot be on the pitch. A knee injury had thrown him back last season – now she hindered him again.
Galaxy couldn’t win a single one of the first seven games. Two draws face five defeats. On Wednesday that came out in the quarter -finals of the Champion Cup against Tigres. Reus said: “There were changes among players who are really important to us.” Some actors are injured, others would have left the club. Access would still take time – but: “You don’t have time in this sport.”
Trainer Greg Vanney is under pressure after the failed start of the season. Meanwhile, Reus demands more quality in everyday cooperation: “We have to understand that our level, even in training, must be higher than last year. Because each of our opponents now wants to beat the master.”
