In order to achieve the semi -finals of the Champions League, the German record champion must deliver in the second leg against Inter. Read here how Bayern can still reach the semi -finals.
FC Bayern wanted to have good conditions in the Allianz Arena against Inter Siegen in the second leg in Milan in the second leg for entering the semi -finals of the Champions League – but it turned out differently. On Tuesday evening, Thomas Müller scored 1-1 compensation, but only three minutes later Davide Frattesi netted the 2-1 final score for Inter.
What does that mean for the second leg? The Italians go into the game in Milan with a narrow lead. Since the away gate rule has no longer apply since summer 2021, the away gates no longer decide on the progress if tie. Each goal counts, no matter in which stadium it was shot.
That should be at least a small consolation for Bayern. The Munich team around coach Vincent Kompany only have to score one goal in Milan on April 16 so that it would be 2-2. In order to actually move into the semi -finals, Bayern would have to score two goals against Inter and the team from Italy should not score. In general, the following applies: The Munich team needs more than the “Nerazzurri” to at least secure the extension.
Briefly caught: A win with two goals difference would secure the Munichs directly into the semi -finals. A tie or a defeat would mean that for FC Bayern.
