The sweep is perfect. The Eisbären Berlin also win the fourth semi-final duel against the Adler Mannheim and are in the final series.
The Adler Mannheim left the 2: 6 (0: 2, 1: 1, 1: 3) against the Eisbären Berlin DEL semi-final. The incumbent master from the capital, on the other hand, takes up in the final series after the title defense.
The eagles came into the encounter well. In the 5th minute, Matthias Plachta switched quickly, brought the windows in front of Austin Ortega in front of Austin Ortega, who was blocked by Eisbear goalkeeper Jake Hildebrand. It was the prelude to an urgent phase of the Mannheimer, two minutes later Hildebrand parried with the schooners against Ortega.
The polar bears reacted and approached via Liam Kirk (8th). There was a lot of pace in it, the hosts were noted that they wanted to show a reaction after the 1: 5 in the third game. But the polar bears were also dangerous at all times. First, Arno Tiefensee saved the highest need against Leo Pföderl, but shortly afterwards the Adler keeper was powerless. Ty Ronning conquered the puck in Forechecking, Frederik Tiffels served Pföderl, who scored completely freely in front of Tiefensee (12th minute). Damit SCORTMANN RONNING also in a row in the 23rd game. In the course of the series, he had replaced the ex-mannheim Peter Draisaitl, who had scored in 21 games in a row in 1994/1995 for the Cologne Haie.
Eisbears expand the leadership worth seeing
After a quarter of an hour, the eagles lost the puck in the Berlin third, Korbinian Geibel moved completely alone on Tiefensee, but failed. A minute later, Gabriel Fontaine Tiefensee forced the next parade, then Nick Cicek saved against Kirk. For the eagles, Plachta remained second winner against Hildebrand with a shot. However, the polar bears set the accents. After a fine solo in the duel with Tiefensee, Fontaine missed the second goal.
The Berliners then increased 69 seconds before the end of the first third – and was worth seeing: Tiffels prevailed against Tom Kühnhackl, served Ronning and got the disc back. The 29-year-old scored 2-0 from the rotation, also because Pföderl Tiefensee cleverly took the view (19th).
Adler fight into the polar bears in
The middle third also started lively. For the eagles, Luke Esposito missed the right time for the game (22nd) in a promising position, on the other hand, Blaine Byron only hit the latte (23rd). In the meantime, Berlin continued to use its temporary parts. Tiffels prevailed over the outside, Tiefensee parried, but Tiffels brought the disc to Ronning, who safely networked – 3: 0. It was the 45th goal of the season for the attacker. Then it got heated. Esposito checked Jonas Müller well after an Icing whistle and received a 10-minute disciplinary penalty. Shortly afterwards, a high stick was not punished against Müller, who in turn disabled Kristian Reichel in the next scene and had to go to the bench for two minutes.
The eagles came to the connection in the majority – and that was quick. After only 20 seconds and won Bully, Plachta Ortega served, who scored ice cold to 1: 3 (32nd). Shortly thereafter, the polar bears played in the power play for the first time because Jordan Szwarz against Kai Wissmann had gone to work with the elbow. Berlin’s keeper Hildebrand was wide awake and served Ronning, who failed on Tiefensee. On the other hand, Markus Hännikäinen missed a goal for the eagles. Then it was even three against five for 20 seconds because Cicek acted with a high stick, but the eagles survived the minutes without harm.
Reichel with the connection – miner with the answer
In the final third, the eagles caught the perfect start. Hännikäinen kept the overview and transferred the complete neutral zone towards Reichel, who immediately took off and scored 2: 3 (41.). The polar bears almost had the perfect answer ready, but Byron found his master twice in the strongly parameter Tiefensee. Both teams continued to have their chances, a quarter of an hour before the end Hildebrand defused a lupfer from Stefan Loibl.
The eagles were now as good in the game as in the initial phase, but were then caught cold. Byron prevailed robust in duel, Lean Bergmann put the puck under right angle (48th). The Mannheimers tried everything on the offensive, but the Berliners made the decision with a double strike. At first Tiefensee was able to parry against Galipeau, but Tiffel’s drogs the rebound into the net (54th). Then the polar bears won a bully in the Mannheim third, over Kirk and Byron the disc came to Bergmann, who scored 6: 2 (55.).
