Nico Schlotterbeck’s serious injury was a shock for BVB. He now takes a special measure on the way to his comeback.
Borussia Dortmund has to do without national players Nico Schlotterbeck in the end of the season. The central defender fails for a long time with a knee injury and also withdraws from the public.
As the 25-year-old announced on Instagram on Tuesday, he wants to concentrate completely on his recovery during his rehab. One reason is that he “needs it for me and my head,” said the defender. In his message, Schlotterbeck wrote that “a long and challenging journey”, but he was determined to “do everything to become in top shape”. His rehab will take several months.
“This message is incredibly difficult for me to write, especially because I know how much my game means and how much you support me,” Schlotterbeck wrote and asked the fans to support the team more than ever.
The defender had suffered a meniscal tear in the left knee and will therefore lack the BVB for several months. In addition to the season finale of the Dortmund season, Schlotterbeck should also miss the Nations League final tournament with the national team.
