It has remained calm with the risk of risk in the 3rd football league between Rot-Weiss Essen and Hansa Rostock. A large police operation away from the stadium could also have contributed to this. FC Hansa has not yet commented on this.
Before the third division game, the officials spontaneously carried out a check on the B224 as part of a major assignment. “As part of the operational measures, there was an indication in the arrival phase that several guest fans in the area of the Wittringen water castle are in Gladbeck and should carry out protection armament and masking material,” says a statement by the Essen police.
“The implementation of the operational concept has worked. We have ensured a safe course of the game through consistent police occurrence.”
– Peter Both, senior police director
On site, thanks to the reference, the officials checked “several vehicles with Rostock fans” and stated “seven violations of the masking ban and a violation of the Narcotics Act and twice protection armament”. As the police said on NDR request, storm hoods and quartz gloves were secured. The latter are a borderline case and are actually no longer counted as a protective arming because, unlike, for example, mouth protection and protectors are also used for attack.
Due to the clear connection with the third division game, 13 advertisements due to violations under the meeting law occurred. Against the affected persons were pronounced and initiated or criminal proceedings were initiated. After that, they were no longer allowed to go to the stadium. The police announcement is overwritten at an early stage with the words “potential violent offenders”. Hansa Rostock has so far not commented on the controls at NDR request.
Use only ended long after the start of the game
According to the police, which had even moved up with several group vehicles of the willingness, around 100 other vehicles, which were also assigned to the Rostock fan scene, were on the federal road. This group was not controlled, but after the end of the mission, decided to go home together with the controlled people.
Due to the large poly age in this use, the federal road was temporarily closed. The assignment started well before the kick -off, but was only over when the game ran long ago.
Essen police draws a satisfied application conclusion
The Essen police had prepared themselves in close consultation with his colleagues in Rostock, but also RWE and Hansa. Due to the control measures mentioned, more remained empty in the stadium than the 600 seats intended for the buffer zone. The gaps in the block were clearly visible – and also had acoustic consequences: not only the typical flags and banners were missing, there was also practically no support for the team from the fan block.
“The course of the game in the stadium and the further arrival and departure were peaceful,” said the police. After the end of the mission on Sunday, the senior director Peter Both found: “The implementation of the operational concept has worked. We have ensured a safe course of the game through consistent police appearance.”
