A column of army vehicles will travel through Drenthe for the next ten days, on the occasion of 80 years of freedom in the Netherlands. The procession consists of 100 to 150 historic army vehicles and drives a daily route that the liberators also drove in April 1945.
In addition, dozens of cities and villages are visited, all of which have organized their own program.
The army vehicles start their journey this morning around 9.30 am in Dalen and leave for the center of Coevorden. The provincial kick -off of the liberation of Drenthe takes place there. The bivouac can be found in Dalen and Westerbork in the coming days and the route continues along the Hardenberg region, Coevorden, Emmen, Midden-Drenthe and the Hondsrug.

Next week there are various activities on the schedule. On Tuesday 8 April, for example, the procession will visit the exhibition about Polish liberators in the Rensenpark and there will be a show of historic army vehicles, motorbikes and historic aircraft on the ground and in the air at the Hoogeveen airport on 12 April.
At different times the procession considered how valuable peace and safety are. On the way, for example, commemorations, including those of sixteen killed allied kites and the commemoration at the Oosterhesselerbrug.
On Sunday, April 13, the last day of the Liberty Tour will take place and the participants will be waved goodbye around noon around noon.
