FC Bayern wins against FC Augsburg, but loses Jamal Musiala. The offensive man is injured by the thigh and threatens to fall out for longer. Trainer Vincent Kompany relies on the strength of the squad.
It happened in the 52nd minute. Jamal Musiala started Augsburg’s goalkeeper Finn Dahmen and tried to prevent him from teeing it. The Munich jumped towards the ball and when he landed again he noticed: something had broken here. He immediately reached his thigh and went to the ground. He then had to leave the lawn supported by supervisors.
A diagnosis was still available after the final whistle. Harry Kane, who immediately comforted Musiala, tried a remote diagnosis. “It looks like the Harmstrings (thigh, note of red),” he said at “DAZN”. What was immediately clear to everyone does not happen a medical miracle, Musiala probably fails longer.
Kimmich: “Crass what injuries we have”
“It is of course extremely bitter,” captain Joshua Kimmich summarized the situation. It is “already blatant what we have for injuries at the moment.” According to Hiroki ito (midfoot break), Dayot Upamecano (cartilage damage) and Alphonso Davies (cruciate ligament tear), the next long -term failure in an absolute top player threatens – depending on the degree of hardship.
Musiala was brought directly into the cabin by the supervisors and could no longer appear properly. “Hopefully it is not as bad as it looks,” said Kane after the final whistle and probably spoke out of the soul to all supporters of FC Bayern.
Inter Milan is waiting in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday. In view of the pictures on Friday evening in Augsburg, Musiala will miss this game almost safely. “We have shown the options we have a few times. We have often played without a Jamal,” Kompany commented at the press conference after the game.
Company and Kimmich take the squad to
“Now we have to see that we will solve this with the squad,” Kompany said after the final whistle a solution for the always clearly becoming staff emergency at Bayern. Kimmich also took on the squad in the Sportschau interview: “It is important that everyone develops a consciousness of how important he is for the team.” Everyone in the squad must notice “that it is needed. There is no player 25 who is not used. Everyone has to work hard.”

Kane also recognized: “It’s now about the team and the team. We need everyone now.” But Kompany continued to “complain”. The goal must continue to be to win every game, the coach remained on his line. “All players who are available must also be mentally ready to play their role.” Kimmich added that “all boys should be hungry and ready”.
Does Müller Musiala replace turn in the contract poker?
In Augsburg, Kompany caught the Musiala failure with Thomas Müller. Of all things Thomas Müller may think that there is no more new working paper at FC Bayern for everything. In summer, the end for the Bavarian veteran and the identification figure of the Munich -based company should be the end.
Probably also because Müller – Musiala would not have been injured after almost an hour – would have only had a maximum of the last minutes. So the 35-year-old was allowed to show himself for more than half an hour. However, his proof of work was rather poor. Always tried as ever. Müller did not radiate a big goal.
That can change in the next few weeks. It is very likely that Müller Musiala will also represent Tuesday against Inter Milan – and maybe even longer.
Company wants to take a chance in Champions League and Bundesliga
Kompany sounded much more combative at the press conference after the game: “In the next games in the Bundesliga and in the Champions League, we simply want to take our chance. (…) That is why we shouldn’t take too much of those stories that are sometimes a shame,” said the 38-year-old Belgian. You have to draw strength from it, “from the moments that we have already solved. That was a lot”.
In the next few weeks, FC Bayern’s squad and his coach Vincent Kompany can prove his resilience – probably without Jamal Musiala.
