Janne Ahonen Has said he never jumped drunk. In 2005, however, he jumped in Planica in a tough hangover for the longest jump of his career: 240 meters.

In 2021, Janne Ahonen admitted that she was an alcoholic and sought help with the illness.

In addition to the alcoholic, Ahonen suffered an eating disorder throughout his career. He kept his weight under control by smoking.
