After Omar Sillah, SpVgg Greuther Fürth has presented the next new addition to the coming season. Central defender Noah König changes from the second team of TSG Hoffenheim to the second division club and signed until 2028. Since his contract expires, the 21-year-old comes to the cloverleaf.
König had been trained at TSG since 2015, but so far it has not been enough for the professionals. Twice this season he was part of the Bundesliga matchday squad of the Kraichgauer and once one in the Europa League. “We are pleased that Noah decided on the way here at an early stage. He is a fixture in Hoffenheim and already knows how to take responsibility. For us, we are again concerned with putting together the right mix of young, developing players and experienced boys. Noah fits into the profile for the former because he still has a lot of potential that we want to exploit with him,” said sports director Stephan Stephan.
King, in which several second division clubs are said to have been interested, said the reasons for his change: “The cloverleaf states that young players get their chance. Joshua Quarshie and Marco John are the best examples, both I still know from Hoffenheim. That is why I am already clear that I would like to take my next step in Fürth.”
