Perhaps satirist Jan Böhmermann would assess his popularity differently – but two thirds of all Germans can’t seem to laugh at the “ZDF Magazin Royale” anchorman. A total of 2500 people were interviewed, the result says the following: 66 percent of the participants find Böhmermann “not funny”. This was the result of a survey by the market research institute “Civey”.

The results of the survey: pretty poor for Böhmermann

As part of the “Zeit” survey, 46 percent answered the question of whether Böhmermann was funny with “not at all” and 20 percent with “rather not”. Eleven percent said they didn’t know the comedian or couldn’t answer the question.

The 41-year-old is known for his provocative theses and his “ZDF Magazin Royale” editorial team for investigative journalism. Most recently, Böhmermann compared FDP politicians with RAF terrorists, which, as expected, led to a heated debate.
