Unsuspectingly, the German tourist walked with his friends across Plaça de l’Olivar, Palma’s main square. Quite unexpectedly, the Dutchman approached him, slapped him in the face and stole his wallet. M. quickly took off, with the German tourist bleeding and screaming in pursuit. Bystanders looked on in amazement, they had no idea what exactly was going on.
The police were soon able to arrest the man. They happened to be on patrol in the square and heard the German tourists calling for help. Because he was in a wheelchair, he had to be taken by ambulance to the police station. M. is suspected of robbery and assault. He is currently in custody while the police investigate.
