44 year old profitor keeper extended contract

22 years ago, Fábio was already in the Brazilian national team squad, was a professional for several years. The Brazilian does not think of quitting.

It continues for Fábio: The 44 -year -old goalkeeper of the Brazilian first division club Fluminense has extended his contract for another year. The goalkeeper remains in Rio de Janeiro until December 2026. Then Fábio will be 46 years old.

“It is a gift of God to be part of this story that we have been writing here at Fluminense since I arrived,” said the routine extension in his contract extension. “We give everything to give our fans a joy. I want to thank God for giving me health and that I can wear this jersey and be part of the three -color family.”

Fábio has been playing at Fluminense since January 2022 and had switched to four times Brazilian champions after 17 years at Cruzeiro. Despite his comparatively old age, the 44-year-old is set under coach Renato Gaúcho. Fluminense is currently in fifth in the table in the Camponato Brasileiro Série A, as the first Brazilian league is called.

Fábio helps the team with his experience and has been a professional footballer since the late 1990s. He never played an international match for Brazil, but stood several times in the Seleção squad. For the first time he was part of the Confederations Cup 22 years ago. Since then he has been nominated several times, but the last time he was in the contingent he was in autumn 2011.

Another time will no longer be added, but there will still be a few missions in the Fluminense jersey. “I would like to thank everyone who is part of this story that is written with every game,” Fábio concluded his statement on the contract extension.
