The third quarter-final playoff wasn’t played so hard this time, you took it back a bit. The referees whistled more consistently this time, almost petty. The flow of the game suffered as a result.

Luckily Boychuk used one of the many chances to make it 2-0 (28th). The polar bears then brought this lead into the second break. Again Boychuk made it 3-0 (45th) and when Cologne coach Uwe Krupp, who was fined by the league for criticizing the referees after the 5-1 victory of Berlin in Cologne, the goalkeeper from his box fetched, Fiore sank to 4: 0 (55th).

The polar bears had never rushed through a quarterfinal so easily. With only two goals conceded and three wins in the best-of-five series.
