Alemannia Aachen scored an important three points at the end of the 13th matchday of the 3rd league against 1. FC Saarbrücken.
Alemannia won 2-0 (2-0) in their own stadium on Sunday evening. It was the second win in the second game under the young interim coach Ilyas Trenz. For the 28-year-old, it may have been his last game on the sidelines. According to media reports, Alemannia will present a new coach next week.
The man of the game on the Aachen side was Lars Gindorf, who put Alemannia on the road to victory with a brace (2nd/39th) in the first half. FCS ended the game outnumbered after Abdoulaye Kamara was shown a yellow-red card in the 80th minute. Thanks to the win, Alemannia now has 16 points and has improved to 15th place in the table. 1. FC Saarbrücken, on the other hand, suffered its third defeat in a row and slipped to tenth place with a further 19 points.
Gindorf scores in the second minute
Alemannia got off to a lightning start: it only took a few seconds before the fans were allowed to cheer for the first time. After a throw-in on the right side, Emmanuel Elekwa robustly beat his opponent and put the ball in the middle. Gindorf was right there and scored early to make it 1-0 (2nd).
Saarbrücken were by no means shocked and almost equalized after eight minutes. Alemannia goalkeeper Jan Olschowsky made a reflex save against Calogero Rizzuto (8th). Six minutes later Olshowsky was also beaten, but goalscorer Abdoulaye Kamara was previously offside (14th).
In the 21st minute, referee Timon Schulz came into focus. Elekwa had probably hit Kamara in an attempt to clear the ball. However, Schulz decided against a penalty whistle.
Second chance, second goal for Aachen
Aachen didn’t do much offensively in the first half. But when Alemannia appeared in front of the goal, the ball was in there. Mika Schroers dribbled to the baseline in the 38th minute and put the ball back into the penalty area. Gindorf was in the right place again, with a well-placed shot hitting the inside post to give the Alemanni a 2-0 half-time lead.
After the page change the picture did not change. Saarbrückem dominated the ball, Alemannia was mainly occupied in defense. But the FCS didn’t really have many ideas. It wasn’t until the 64th minute that Olschowsky was challenged again when a cross from Rizzuto slipped through. Olschwosky was quick to think and fished the ball out of the corner.
Kamara’s sending off seals Saarbrücken’s defeat
Ten minutes before the end, the hopes of the Saarbrücken fans were given an additional damper because their team was suddenly outnumbered. Kamara caught Faton Ademi with his leg at chest height while attempting a pass in midfield. Referee Schulz sent off Kamara, who had already been warned, with a yellow-red card (80′).
With that the game was over. Because with ten men, Saabrücken was no longer able to set dangerous accents. Instead, Alemannia had the game under control and took the lead over the finish line.
