HERA United is playing in the Eredivisie for the first time this season and is currently tenth. The difference was clear against Ajax, the number two in the competition. Ajax took the lead early in the match and at halftime the team was already 4–0 ahead.
Not in the Olympic stadium
HERA’s plan was to play the bigger matches in the Olympic Stadium. But for practical reasons, the AFC sports park was ultimately chosen, says co-founder Barbara Barend. “You can see that it is very atmospheric here now. About 1,500 people. We will have to grow a bit to fill the Olympic stadium,” says Barend.
Barend secretly hoped for a draw, she says before the match. But that was to no avail. There will be no more field goals in the second half. Ajax does get another penalty. The number two in the competition ended up with a 5-0 victory over the number ten from the Eredivisie.
