Saarbrücken has decided: interim coach Jürgen Luginger will become head coach – at least for the current season.
The third division soccer team 1. FC Saarbrücken has promoted Jürgen Luginger from interim coach to permanent head coach. The football teacher will look after the team together with assistant coach Karsten Specht until the end of the season, as the club announced.
The coaching team has provided important impetus over the past few weeks and has earned the trust of the team. This positive development was the deciding factor for the club management’s decision.
President Hartmut Ostermann emphasized: “Jürgen Luginger knows the club, the team and the environment like no other. As head coach, he stands for stability, clear processes and a direct approach. Together with Karsten Specht, we will approach the second half of the season with unity, focus and full determination.” Luginger took over the coaching position from Alois Schwartz at the end of November.
