32,000 calls to Tele-Onthaal: extra compensation for volunteers
Flemish Minister of Welfare Hilde Crevits visited Tele-Onthaal West-Vlaanderen in Bruges today. She spoke with 2 of the 141 volunteers. They are busy, with about 70 calls a day and also at night.

The minister appreciates their efforts and promises additional resources for their relocation costs. That’s their only compensation.
Flemish Minister of Welfare Hilde Crevits : “I have decided to allocate an extra 113,000 euros to improve the relocation allowance of those volunteers. People come here, are on the phone, sometimes sleep here at night. And they also come from further afield. I decide to use that relocation allowance double the budget.”
