The 1. FC Saarbrücken started the game powerfully – the hosts caused danger in the first ten minutes. In the 17th minute the rang in the goal of the SC Verl.

As with the game against Essen, it was Patrick Sontheimerthat brought the blue-blacks to the front. Philip Fahrner recorded the warded up ball and served Sontheimer, who placed the leather in the left angle from the right.

Verl used Overpayment situation ice -cold

After the opening goal, the team around coach Alois Schwartz initially stepped onto the brakes, which encouraged Verl to increase his offensive efforts. In the 33rd minute, the FCS then knew how to use a switching moment: After a conquest at the center line, Fahrner flanked on the center line on Krüger, who came to the end – 2-0 for the home side.

Shortly afterwards, the FCS could have expanded its leadership. Kasim Rabihic moved back after a switching campaign in the 38th minute, but failed to Verls goalkeeper. Instead, the FCS caught the goal in the 44th minute: Verl used an overpayment situation as a result of a violation of Rabihic to advance at speed. It was Dominik Steczyk who only had to push the ball over the line after a flat cross from Niko Kijewski.

Shortly before the final whistle of the 1st half, the hosts could have put it on the 3-1. The blue-blacks came forward over the right side, Zeitz flanked in the middle. The rebound landed at Krüger, who just dropped past the left post. So it went into the cabins with the stand of 2-1 at halftime.

Schiri whistles

The second half began with a decision at least worth discussing: the referee decided in the 50th minute on a penalty for the FCS. Krüger converted to 3: 1. Happiness for the blue-blacks-a damper for the guests who started the game better after the change of sides.

BLE did not impress himself from the cold shower and put a lot of pressure on the Saarbrücker Tor. Thanks to a conquest of the ball, it was again the FCS who was allowed to cheer: the home side quickly played forward, Brünker finally fit on Krüger, who entered the penalty area and sank the ball to 4: 1.

Exciting final phase

However, the three-goal lead did not last long. Just two minutes later, Verlen shortened by Berkan Taz to 4: 2. Preliminary work did Lars Lokotsch, who set the ball in the penalty area and served taz.

Afterwards, Verl did not give up and demanded the Saarbrücken defense again and again. The blue-blacks also had to perform the last minutes in the outnumbered: Calogero Rizzuto saw the yellow-red card after a foul on Timur Gayret.

In the 85th minute, the game then really picked up hit by the third Verler hits: after an unexplained corner Kijewski at the end and reduced to 4: 3. In the final minutes, the FCS was all about securing the three important points in the promotion race.

The blue-blacks made it unnecessarily exciting-but in the end actually managed to win the home win. The FCS thus overtakes the direct table neighbor Energie Cottbus overnight and is currently on the relegation place. Energie Cottbus could overtake FCS again on Sunday with a win against Waldhof Mannheim.
