After the promotion party last weekend, Arminia Bielefeld also secured the championship in the 3rd league.
On the last matchday on Saturday, the Ostwestfalen Waldhof Mannheim defeated 1-0 (0-0) and with 72 points claimed the top position in front of Mit-promoted Dynamo Dresden and the 1. FC Saarbrücken, which will play in the relegation for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. Noah Sarenren Bazeee (56.) scored the decisive goal for the Arminia.
Bielefeld Can win two more titles: The next Saturday (May 24th/8pm), the club will meet Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart in the DFB Cup final. On May 29 (May 14th), the Arminia will contest the final in the Westphalia Cup against the Sportfreunde Siegen.
Happiness for Bielefeld at the start of the game
Bielefeld was lucky after 19 seconds when the free -standing Felix Lohkemper (1st) failed with a header on the post. After a failed pass from Arminias Christopher Lannert to keeper Jonas Kersken, the ball landed again at Lohkemper, which was missed with a lifter from 20 meters.
Then the hosts got better into the game and tore the control. A long -range shot by Marius Wörl (20th) broke past the goal, a slightly deflected Schlenzer by Mael Corboz (23rd), also missed the housing. Overall, however, Mannheim’s defensive allowed only a few options.
Kersken ironed out his own mistake
After the half -time break, Kersken (53.) slipped the ball with a harmless back pass, but Arminia’s keeper could stop the ball in front of the goal line in the follow -up. A little later Bielefeld took the lead: a shooting attempt by Louis Oppie landed on the second post near Sarenren Bazeee (56.), who only had to insert.
Bielefeld continued the game, but Mannheim still had a huge chance to equalize: After a fine plug -in pass from Samuel Abifade, Lohkemper (74th) came to a close angle, but Kersken was on hand.
