2nd Bundesliga: Fiete Arp is injured in Holstein Kiel for the second half of the season

Torn tendon in the adductor area

Second division leaders Holstein Kiel will have to do without Fiete Arp at the start of the second half of the season. The 23-year-old attacker tore a tendon in the adductor area in the last game of the first half of the season in the 3-0 win against Hannover 96, as the “Ströche” announced on Wednesday. This results in a “medium to long-term” absence; the ex-HSV and Bayern talent is working individually in the training camp in Spain.

Arp had established himself in coach Marcel Rapp’s regular lineup since matchday 10 and scored five goals in the last eight games. Behind Benedikt Pichler (8 goals) and level with Steven Skrzybski (5), he was the most successful attacker for the Kiel team, who have to worry about the trio at the start of the second half of the season. Pichler missed the last two games of the first half with a groin injury, Skrzybski with a thigh problem. For both of them it is still unclear whether it will be enough for the game against Eintracht Braunschweig on January 19th.
