What an evening in Dresden: Despite an attack lasting more than 90 minutes, Dynamo Dresden suffered a bitter home defeat against Borussia Dortmund II.
Dynamo Dresden lost a memorable home game against Borussia Dortmund II 1-2 and missed out on reaching the top of the 3rd league table. 21 seconds decided the game.
The first half belonged to Dynamo from the start. Markus Beginn’s team was busy on both sides. Jakob Lemmer in particular played cat and mouse with Dortmund. The BVB defense had its hands and feet full. A goal was in the air for 45 minutes. What was missing was “only” the final pass and the punch. before the box. The greatest opportunity was created by Lemmer, who played into the path of Luca Herrmann, but the midfielder failed to hit the left outside post from half-right.
Dortmund takes advantage of a Meier bad pass
So far so good? Nearly. Because a Dresden player made a mistake on the defensive. And so, despite a highly superior 45 Dynamo minutes, the score was 0:1. Jonathan Meier passed from the right to the back, where Dortmund’s Rodney Elongo-Yombo grabbed the ball and beat Kevin Broll in the second attempt (23′).

The second half began with a moment of shock when BVB left winger James Butler headed a cross from former Halle player Michael Eberwein onto the crossbar (47′). Dresden now found it more difficult, the initial eleven lost the verve of the first 45 minutes. At the front, Lemmer had the ball stolen from him by the strong former Dresden player Franz Pfanne during a counterattack (53′).
Joker Cueto equalizes
When the SGD seemed to lose momentum, Markus beginning brought in two jokers, Lucas Cueto and Markus Kutschke. And with the first action, Cueto came through on the left, his pass didn’t put Lemmer in the box, but at least it forced goalkeeper Ostrzinski to score an own goal (67th).

BVB countered, benefiting from a risky pass from Paul Will to Lars Bünning, Bamba got to the ball and shot the ball from the edge of the penalty area into the heart of SGD (87th). 21 seconds decided the game.
