Union is wintering in the Eurocup – and now also in the cup! After the 2-0 win over second division team Heidenheim, the Bundesliga leaders can still dream of a double. Tymoteusz Puchacz (7th) and Sven Michel (52nd) give the fans hope.
The scorers are two professionals rotating into the team. Contrary to his announcement of a “moderate rotation”, coach Urs Fischer changes vigorously.
Lennart Grill (in goal), Danilho Doekhi, Puchacz, Paul Seguin and Michel are in the starting XI. After the 2-0 win against Dortmund, Frederik Rönnow, Rani Khedira (both on the bench), Timo Baumgartl, Christopher Trimmel (neither in the squad) and Jordan Siebatcheu (horse kiss) have to leave. With this starting eleven, the Köpenickers will probably never run again!

Union really surprised Heidenheim. The team from the east of Baden-Württemberg can only free itself once: Geipl checks Grill in the Köpenicker box (15th). Then Union simply carries on as strong as a bear.
Above all, Puchacz wants to show himself. His free kick finds Doekhi’s head (30′). Puchacz also takes a corner, this time Leite fails narrowly (31st).
After the break, the same picture: Union superior. First, Michel’s header just misses (50′), then his header arc lamp (50′) lands in the net – the 2-0 (52′)!

Union collects around 500,000 euros for moving into the next round and is waiting for the round of 16 opponents on the way to the final in Berlin at the draw (7.15 p.m. / ARD) on Sunday.
Awesome, Union has come a step closer to the double.
