The 1. FC Kaiserslautern missed the lead in the 2nd Bundesliga. Against Hannover 96, the team of coach Markus only came to a happy 0-0 after four victories in series. However, the FCK improved to second place with 39 points at least until Sunday. Hanover is eighth with 34 points.

In front of 45,779 spectators in the Fritz-Walter Stadium, the FCK was in the game in the early stages and could have been able to lead through Marlon Ritter in the 10th minute. As a result, however, the guests from Lower Saxony dominated the game. The best way in the first half awarded Lars Gindorf, who only hit the crossbar in the 33rd minute. Kaiserslautern was better in the game at the end of the first half. Ragnar Ache narrowly missed the goal.

After the restart, Hanover was the clearly better team and earned a variety of opportunities. But neither Gindorf (48th), Boris Tomiak (53.), Rabbi Mantondo (60th) nor Marcel Halstenberg (73.) put the ball in the host’s goal.

SV Elversberg beats SpVgg Greuther Fürth

SV Elversberg continues to mix in the promotion struggle. The Saarlanders celebrated a safe 2-0 (2: 0) against the SpVgg Greuther Fürth and now have 35 points. The deficit to the relegation place is only three points. In front of 8,630 spectators, striker Fisnik Asllani (6th) scored the goals for the team of coach Horst Steffen with his twelfth season goal and Carlo Sickinger (45.). The only downside was the late yellow-red card for Lukas Petkov (90.+4). The guests from Franconia, on the other hand, could not take advantage of their few chances and continue to remain with 26 points in the middle of the table.

The first promising attack by the home side led to success. Tom Zimmerschied had a lot of space on the left and put the ball into the middle, where Asllani only had to insert. Shortly afterwards, the striker borrowed from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim could have expanded the lead, but failed at Fürther goalkeeper Nahuel Noll as later as later Muhammed Damar.

While the guests on and in the opposing penalty area acted too cumbersome, Elversberg showed the necessary consequence. Sickinger hit the corner shortly before the break with a low shot from around 20 meters. After the change, the host cleverly managed the lead and could even have expanded it. Noll prevented the third goal against room difference.

Eintracht Braunschweig beats SV Darmstadt 98

Eintracht Braunschweig celebrated an important victory in the relegation battle of the 2nd league. The Lower Saxony won their home game in front of 18,714 spectators against SV Darmstadt 98 with 1-0 (0-0). Due to the second victory in series, Eintracht improved with 21 points to 15th place. Lino Tempelmann scored the decisive goal in the 60th minute.

After the last five winless games and three defeats in series, the guests from Hessen first set a chance to search for defensive stability without their own hits, in order to then search for their chance in switching moments. Eintracht had a significantly more possession of the ball, but there were no significant opportunities.

After half an hour the game picked up. First the Darmstadt Merville Papela put the ball on the crossbar (33.), then Braunschweig’s Rayan Philippe failed in direct return to Lilien keeper Marcel Schuen. The beginning of the second half was also torn. All the more surprising then the Braunschweig leadership by Tempelmann, who hit the penalty area with a courageous left -wing shot. The yellow-red card against Jean-Paul Boëtius two minutes after the tour also played the Lower Saxony in the cards. Darmstadt’s final offensive was late.
