The 1. FC Kaiserslautern continues to have the chance of the relegation place on the last matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga. The Palatinate happily beat SV Darmstadt 98 2-1 (2: 1) and, before the season finale, were two points behind SV Elversberg as sixth in the table. So that it still works with the promotion chance of detours, the Lauterers have to win at 1. FC Köln next Sunday and hope for the competition.
The guests from Darmstadt caught a lightning start. Luca Marseiler punished a mistake in the third minute by dusting the Lauterer in the game structure. But the FCK quickly recovered from the early shock and came to equalize through Marlon Ritter’s penalty goal (15th). Marseiler had hit Jean Zimmer on the foot, after a long video review, referee Robin Braun gave the penalty.
A little later there was the next tricky decision for the var. Darmstadt’s ISAC Lidberg had pressed the ball over the line after a corner kick, but before that there was probably an offside position – the goal did not count. Ragnar Ache then used the long stoppage time because of the video evidence: With a placed shot from 17 meters, the top striker turned the game (45.+7).
For Lautern’s coach Torsten Lieberknecht, the encounter was a special reunion. He stood on the sidelines in Darmstadt for three years. In half two, Lieberknecht’s new team acted very passively for a long time, especially the guests had the chances. With a lot of luck, Lautern saved the tight victory over time.
Later compensation: Fürth even after a change of coach
The SpVgg Greuther Fürth is still in the relegation battle after the separation from coach Jan Siewert. The table-14. played only 1: 1 (1-0) at Hannover 96 on Sunday and only conceded the equalizer by Phil Neumann (87th) shortly before the end. Another goal for Hanover in injury time was withdrawn after the use of the video evidence (90.+3).
Noel Futkeu had put the Fürther in the lead in the 33rd minute. After the late setback and the now ninth -winless game in series Schmolz, the lead on the relegation place at the end together to one point and eight goals. The opponent on the last matchday is the leaders Hamburger SV.
The team was discontinued for the first time by Siewert successor Thomas Kleine, who was only released in April as an assistant coach of Hannover 96. “This is a special situation. But you can’t plan that in football,” said the 47-year-old at “Sky”. “I certainly have a few knowledge. But everyone is very well prepared in football these days. There are now little secrets.”
Four goals in the summer jick between Regensburg and Karlsruhe
After an entertaining summer jick at relegated Jahn Regensburg, the Karlsruher SC ends this second division season again in a single -digit place in the table. Thanks to a varied 2: 2 (2: 1) on the penultimate matchday in the Upper Palatinate, the team of coach Christian Eichner ends up among the best nine teams as in the past two seasons.
In the top light in Regensburg with standards, the best football weather was able to say goodbye to his fans again with a courageous performance. For Munier Raychouni, who rose to interim chief after the separation from Andreas Patz, the draw was a respect for 12,708 spectators.
For both teams, however, nothing was about nothing. Captain Marvin Wanitzek (4th) and Dzenis Burnic (31st) shot the Karlsruhe from outside the sixteen. After corners, Rasim Bulic (17th) equalized with the left shoulder and Eric Hottmann (66.). The Karlsruhe should have increased before half -time. After the 2-2, both teams switched down a little. The KSC ends the season at least ninth.
