In the 2nd Bundesliga, Eintracht Braunschweig collected important points in the fight against relegation on Friday evening and put pressure on the competition in the table cellar. The team of coach Daniel Schering won 3: 2 (1: 1) against promotion candidate SC Paderborn after two gap. Meanwhile, the connection to the top of the table threatens Hannover 96 after 0: 1 (0: 0) to lose at Karlsruher SC.
Eintracht Braunschweig turns game and wins against Paderborn
The SC Paderborn played a guided tour twice in the promotion race and missed the leap to the relegation rank. The relegation candidate Eintracht Braunschweig, which was harmless and error -prone to long distances, turned the game and defeated the East Westphalia spectacularly with 3: 2 (1: 1).
For the Lower Saxony, the surprising victory was an important success in the struggle in the relegation zone. But the often overwhelmed hosts shocked the Paderborns through the goals of Philippe and Bell Bell. Grimaldi still missed the equalization (83.), so that in the end Braunschweig actually cheered.
Premiere under Breitenreiter: Hanover loses 0-1 at the KSC
The Karlsruher SC has added the first defeat in the second half of the season and a damper in the promotion battle. Thanks to Christoph Kobald’s winning goal, the Badeners won 1-0 (0-0). While the home side reached the 40-point mark, the Lower Saxony missed the temporary jump to the relegation place.
Before 28,818 fans, the team of 96 coach André Breitenreiter came into play better. First, Jannik Dehm missed the lead in the 17th minute. A little later, KSC keeper Max Weiß had to save against Phil Neumann. But the Karlsruher also found solutions again after an error -controlled start and rewarded themselves for their more braver appearance by Kobald (54.). After a long -range shot, the imposed defender was right and pushed in.
Hanover did not give up after the goal. However, the guests did not manage to prevent the first defeat under Breitenreiter against the Karlsruhe, who were shaken by the leadership. The 51-year-old had succeeded Stefan Leitl at the end of December and has played three victories and seven draws in ten games since then.
