2.7 million euros are missing
Forced relegation: traditional club has to be relegated

After another dispute with the investor, TSV 1860 Munich has to prove its solvency to the DFB. The deadline has now expired – and there is forced relegation.
According to its own statements, TSV 1860 Munich does not receive a license for the 3rd football league. The third division team had to submit the financial documents necessary for the license to the German Football Association by 5 p.m. today, but that didn’t work. The reason for this is an unfulfilled financing commitment from investor Hasan Ismaik amounting to 2.7 million euros.
The investor told the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” that it was a “sad day”. “I regret that the shareholder HAM International did not honor the financing commitment. Until the end, I was firmly convinced that a solution could be found in the interests of the professional football society. Unfortunately, this wish has not come true,” explained managing director Manfred Paula on a Black “Lion” day. “We will now put all our energy into putting together a powerful squad for the coming season in the Bavarian Regional League.”
Ismaik also seemed ready to give in at the last minute. “I think we will stay in the third division and everyone is working particularly hard to stay in the third division,” the Jordanian wrote, according to the SZ. He doesn’t hope that the “Lions” have to go back to the fourth division.
Gernot Mang, President of the parent association 1860, says: “This development is particularly disappointing, as both the management and the representatives of the parent association trusted that the commitment made would be adhered to. As club representatives, we have always shown ourselves to be willing to compromise, but we cannot ignore the statutory and association legal requirements.”
1860 seeks “perspective for the future”
The people of Munich, who have qualified for another third league season, are experiencing torturous déjà vu. Already in 2017, Ismaik, who has always railed against the 50+1 rule in order to take control of the club, refused to pay around 10 million euros necessary for a license in the 3rd league after relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga. TSV 1860 then had to make a fresh start in the regional league.

This time Ismaik again canceled the loan agreements necessary for the license and submitted a list of demands to the parent club. The motto: money only in return for massive concessions. The management took legal action against the termination of the loan agreements.
